Covid-19 update
Classes - We're currently only taking private bookings for up to 3 people per class (at no extra cost). To book, go to the class page, select the number of people in your group and choose a date and time from our online calendar. Hopefully soon we will get back to setting specific class dates for mixed groups again. :)
In usual, non-pandemic times, there is a surcharge for private classes with only one or two participants, which we have waived for the current times. When we get back to our usual booking format, the price shown will be per person to join a group class, and the price for private classes will increase to it's usual level (1.5x for one person or 1.25x for two people).

FAQs
Who is the class for?
This class is designed for beginners who would like to learn basic silver jewellery making techniques, and make their very own sterling silver ring. You will need a reasonable amount of hand and arm strength. Sorry, children under 16 are not permitted.
What's involved?
The skills you will learn in this class are the basic jewellery making techniques used in traditional jewellery making and silversmithing. To begin with, Jenny will take you through the tools you will use and the basic techniques you will learn. You’ll be able to choose the design for your final piece, and Jenny will show you every step of the way to creating your ring: Sizing, shaping, soldering, using hammer textures, and finishing.
What's included?
The price includes everything you need: all materials and use of any necessary tools, full instruction from Jenny, and light refreshments. Lunch is not included, but you’re welcome to bring a packed lunch, or pop out during the break.
What are the design options?
When you arrive at your class, you will be given the choice of different band widths and thicknesses, and there are several textured finishes to choose from. You will be given a chance to test out the textured finishes, so you’ll have plenty of time to decide. There are many possible combinations, and Jenny will guide you through every step, to ensure that you make a unique ring to be proud of!
Please note that there will be a limited stock of materials, if you have any specific requirements, please contact us in advance to make sure your requirement can be accommodated.
How long will the class last?
The class will last approximately 4½ - 5 hours, which includes a 30 minute break for lunch (lunch is not included). It’s best to allow a little extra time as classes can sometimes over-run depending on group sizes. Smaller groups may finish earlier.
Where is the class held?
Classes are held in The Little Craftery in Field Row, Worthing, which is designed to be a functional, comfortable workspace for up to 5 participants. The shop will be closed to the public during your class, so you don’t need to worry about interruptions. If you have any special access requirements, please contact Wendy at The Little Craftery before you book to discuss, and to find out if access is available for you.
Do we need to book?
Yes, please do book in advance, as there are a limited number of places on each class (due to Covid restrictions we are currently only taking a maximum of 2 people per workshop), and we wouldn’t want you to be disappointed! We require full payment in advance in order to secure your booking. Online payments will be taken securely by either Square or Paypal. If you’d rather not book online, you can book in person at The Little Craftery.
Do I need to bring anything?
All your materials and light refreshments are supplied, but not lunch.
It is quite fine work, so if you use reading glasses or similar it may be useful to bring those with you.
What should I wear?
For safety reasons, you will be required to wear enclosed shoes.
Aprons will be provided, but it is still recommended to wear clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty.
Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?
If you are unable to attend your class, please let us know as soon as possible. Cancellations more than 24 hours in advance will receive a full refund. Cancellations less than 24 hours in advance or failure to show up for your class will not be eligible for a refund.
We may occasionally need to cancel a class. If this is the case, we will attempt to contact you in advance as soon as possible to either reschedule your date to another class or offer a full refund, as you prefer.
